The Community Health Block Party was the culminating event of the WE Project 2.0, sharing insights on how social networks can help improve health, and spotlighting local wellness resources in the Petersburg area. The day featured an agenda of engaging activities including fitness and cooking demonstrations, games, dancing, Double Dutch, and even a stage play.
The 40+ Double Dutch Club gave a performance
The WE Wellness Social brought together WE Project participants, Wellness Ambassadors, family members, friends, and community partners to reflect on the impact of the WE Project and discuss what comes next. WE Project participants and wellness ambassadors shared their experiences, highlighted key lessons learned, and explored ways to continue promoting health and wellness in Petersburg. Additionally, our community partners were able to share how they could be pivotal in connecting the community and supporting and small sustainable changes for health. It was an inspiring evening that demonstrated the power of community-driven wellness and the lasting impact of the WE Project.
The WE Celebration marked both the conclusion of the WE Project and the beginning of our next phase—sharing what we’ve learned with the community. Rooted in our commitment to community engagement, we chose to share the results and impact of the project first with those who made it possible: our Wellness Ambassadors and participants. The event brought together a strong group of attendees for an evening of connection, reflection, and storytelling. More than just sharing findings, the WE Celebration created space for participants to share their experiences, offer feedback, and celebrate the journey together—helping ensure that the voices of the community remain at the center of what comes next.
